In 2019, at the age of 29, my life took a turn that I could never have anticipated. I was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer—a reality that felt almost impossible to comprehend. In an instant, I went from planning my future to fighting for it. The journey from diagnosis to treatment was grueling. It involved surgeries, including a liver resection and ileostomy, radiation, and intensive chemotherapy sessions. Every step felt like walking a tightrope between hope and uncertainty, but I held onto the belief that I could beat this.
Throughout the process, my family and especially the birth of my daughter became a huge source of strength. Facing cancer as a new father added a complex emotional layer, but it also gave me a new sense of purpose. There were moments when it seemed easier to give up, but I knew I had to keep going—not just for myself, but for those who needed me. Sharing my experiences on TikTok under Radiant14Percent allowed me to connect with others going through similar struggles, and it became an unexpected outlet for both inspiration and support.
Now, after a year and a half of being NED (No Evidence of Disease), I find myself reflecting on what this experience has meant. I'm not just a survivor—I'm someone who has been given the opportunity to rebuild and redefine my life. The battle isn’t over, but it has shifted. I’m focused on using my story to raise awareness, help others navigate their own journeys, and keep the momentum going with Radiant14. Every day is a reminder that life is fragile, but it’s also full of possibility.
